The Evolve e-bike and e-scooter sharing program in Langford launches with 75 e-bikes and 75 e-scooters available at 30 designated stations throughout the city. Users download the Evo App (Android and iOS), register an account, then locate, unlock, and ride devices via GPS-enabled kiosks. The pay-as-you-go pricing model charges CAD 0.35 per minute or CAD 12.99 per hour (whichever is lower), with a CAD 1.25 unlock fee per trip. Frequent riders can opt for a CAD 9.99 monthly membership that reduces the per-minute rate to CAD 0.10, and BCAA members receive an additional 10% discount on standard rates.

Safety protocols include mandatory helmets (provided and regularly sanitized), a maximum speed limit of 25 km/h, and the establishment of slow-ride and no-ride zones to ensure responsible operation in residential and high-pedestrian areas. All rides must begin and end within designated Evolve Parking Zones selected for accessibility and GPS reliability. Operated by a BC-based team and powered by BCAA, the program aligns with Langford’s commitment to zero-emission transportation, offering a sustainable, affordable alternative that reduces local traffic congestion while promoting active mobility and environmental stewardship.
