Lime Rock New Energy has completed its second funding round at $640 million, well above its $500 million target and twice the size of its debut round. The energy transition investment fund re-engaged nearly 90% of its original institutional investors and expanded its global footprint with new commitments from European and Asian institutions, which together accounted for about a third of the total.

The capital raised will support growth-stage companies across renewable energy, grid modernization, industrial efficiency and clean transportation. These are the areas where Lime Rock sees financial returns and environmental outcomes aligning.

As investor demand for climate-aligned investment strategies grows, Lime Rock New Energy shows that building a track record in a specific sector can convert early investor confidence into significantly larger follow-on commitments.
