Low-carbon hydrogen is at the heart of a new partnership between ROTOBOOST (Finland) and Baowu Clean Energy (China). Launched on October 21, 2025, under the Business Finland, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China Joint Innovation Program, this collaboration aims to make heavy industries like steel and aluminum production much more sustainable.

Additionally, the partners will "apply Thermo-Catalytic Decomposition (TCD), a methane pyrolysis process that turns methane into hydrogen and solid carbon — without releasing carbon dioxide." As a result, this clean technology helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions while producing valuable materials for industrial use.

By replacing fossil-based hydrogen and limiting CO₂ output, the project supports the global shift toward low-carbon manufacturing and contributes to achieving both climate and energy efficiency goals in Finland, China, and beyond.
