Low-Carbon Materials Partnerships
Cura and Sylvera Link Carbon Data to Low-Carbon Materials
Adam Harrie — April 7, 2026CURA partnered with Sylvera to advance low-carbon materials by linking emissions performance to measurable commercial outcomes. The collaboration centers on independently verifying CURA’s carbon intensity and finding ways to convert lower-emission production into financial gain.
Sylvera performed a lifecycle assessment of CURA’s operations, benchmarking its performance against thousands of cement facilities worldwide to provide comparable data. The assessment ranked CURA among the top cement producers globally in terms of carbon intensity and identified a potential value of up to €409 million. The analysis also examined how to incorporate carbon performance into market mechanisms like emissions trading systems and certification frameworks.
As demand for lower-emission building materials increases, partnerships like this demonstrate how verified data can promote clearer pricing signals and encourage broader adoption of alternative cement production methods worldwide.
