At the Milano Unica trade show, The LYCRA Company unveiled its latest creation: LYCRA® EcoMade fiber made with QIRA® -- a corn-based, bio-derived alternative to traditional fossil fuel materials. Delivering the same high-performance stretch and durability as conventional fibers, this version contains 70% renewable content and has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by up to 44%. A key advantage of this innovation is its drop-in compatibility, which enables mills to adopt it without altering their existing manufacturing processes. Production is scalable through Qore’s state-of-the-art facility in Iowa, ensuring accessibility for global textile markets.

This development aligns with the fashion industry’s growing commitment to sustainability, particularly as brands respond to increasingly stringent environmental regulations and consumer demand for eco-conscious products.

By maintaining quality while minimizing environmental impact, LYCRA® EcoMade with QIRA® empowers manufacturers to meet sustainability goals without sacrificing performance or incurring retooling costs.
