The Nandagang Wetland in Cangzhou, China, recently recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, "is a critical ecosystem supporting migratory birds and wetland biodiversity along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway." To highlight its ecological importance, the Cangzhou International Communication Center has launched the Nandagang International Photo Competition, an initiative aimed at increasing public awareness of wetland conservation and biodiversity protection.

The competition invites photographers worldwide to capture images that illustrate the environmental value of wetlands, including their role in supporting wildlife, regulating water systems, and maintaining ecological balance. By sharing visual stories of nature, the initiative seeks to foster greater understanding of the need to protect fragile ecosystems and promote responsible environmental stewardship.

An international jury of experienced photojournalists and photographers oversees the competition, reinforcing its commitment to high-quality visual storytelling. Through global participation and creative expression, the competition supports education, conservation awareness, and long-term protection of wetlands as vital natural resources.
