Flexible Recycled Polyethylene Packagings

Charter Next Generation (CNG) and NOVA Chemicals have entered a strategic collaboration to commercialise recycled polyethylene resin for flexible packaging, with CNG procuring rPE under NOVA’s SYNDIGO brand. The agreement covers integration of post consumer recycled film and packaging feedstock into CNG’s film and flexible packaging operations, positioning the material as a lower emission alternative to virgin polyethylene for applications such as cereal bags, shrink film, and household overwraps.

The partnership is framed around scaling supply, improving circularity, and enabling brand and converter access to higher quality PCR based resins through long term procurement and technical collaboration. Public statements indicate the collaboration will focus on qualification, supply chain coordination, and commercialisation to support broader adoption of rPE in advanced flexible packaging markets. Industry coverage situates the deal as part of both companies’ commitments to reduce lifecycle emissions and expand recycled content in packaging.
