The space solar systems developed by Overview Energy, in partnership with Meta, introduce a new approach to energy generation by collecting solar power in orbit and transmitting it to Earth. Satellites positioned in geosynchronous orbit capture continuous sunlight and beam it as low-intensity infrared energy to existing ground-based solar facilities, where it is converted into electricity. This method allows solar infrastructure to operate beyond daylight hours, increasing output without requiring additional land or major grid modifications.
