Renewable-Operations Solar Plants
Meta Partnered with Zelestra on 176 MWdc Skull Creek Solar Plant
Colin Smith — February 5, 2026Meta and Zelestra have expanded their clean energy partnership through a long term power purchase agreement for the 176 MWdc Skull Creek Solar Plant in Texas. The project is intended to support Meta’s objective of matching its operations with 100 percent renewable energy by adding new solar generation capacity to the ERCOT grid. This agreement builds on earlier collaboration between the companies, including the Jasper County Solar Project in Indiana, which recently reached full commercial operation. Across the United States, Meta and Zelestra now hold seven power purchase agreements totaling approximately 1.2 GWdc of planned solar capacity scheduled to be online by 2028.
The Skull Creek Solar Plant is expected to enter commercial operation in 2027 and will contribute to Meta’s broader strategy of sourcing clean energy for its expanding data center footprint. Zelestra’s leadership has emphasized the growing momentum of the partnership, noting simultaneous progress across multiple projects in development and construction. The agreement reflects both companies’ continued investment in large scale renewable infrastructure and their shared focus on increasing solar generation capacity in key regions of the United States.
