TotalEnergies Partnered with Aljomaih Energy & Water on Clean Energy
Colin Smith — November 4, 2025TotalEnergies and Aljomaih Energy & Water have formed a consortium awarded the license to develop, build, and operate a 400 MW solar photovoltaic project in the As Sufun area of Saudi Arabia under Round 6 of the National Renewable Energy Program. The agreement includes a 25‑year Power Purchase Agreement with the Saudi Power Procurement Company for the sale of generated electricity, with the project planned to connect to the grid in 2027 and supply power equivalent to the needs of approximately 68,400 households.
The partnership is presented by both parties as contributing to Saudi Vision 2030 objectives by increasing the share of renewables in the national energy mix and supporting the Kingdom’s broader decarbonisation and energy-transition targets. The consortium combines TotalEnergies’ global renewables development capacity with Aljomaih’s local project development expertise, and the project is positioned to advance local deployment of utility‑scale solar while aligning with national procurement and regulatory frameworks.
