Bulkcorp International Limited
Colin Smith — August 30, 2025Bulkcorp International Limited has commissioned a 464 kW ground-mounted solar power plant, Project Urja, at New Survey No. 361, Moje Jasanvada, Taluka Bhabhar, District Banaskantha, Gujarat. The facility was funded with ₹218 lakh from the company’s August 2024 IPO proceeds and is configured for captive consumption to supply clean energy to Bulkcorp’s operations, including its newly commissioned manufacturing unit. The plant, designed with an operational lifespan of 25 years, aims to reduce dependence on conventional coal, thermal, and hydro sources while supporting the company’s sustainability objectives.
Operating under a net metering arrangement, Project Urja allows Bulkcorp International to offset its electricity usage and export surplus power to the grid. This development enhances the company’s operational resilience and cost efficiency and aligns with India’s renewable energy targets. By lowering energy expenses and adhering to international ESG benchmarks, the initiative is expected to bolster Bulkcorp’s competitiveness in export markets across Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Middle East. Commenting on the project, Managing Director and CEO Punit Gopala highlighted its significance in reducing the carbon footprint and advancing the company’s sustainability trajectory.
