Foulath Holding, the parent company of Bahrain Steel, and Yellow Door Energy, "the leading sustainable energy developer in the Middle East and Africa," have joined forces to develop the large-scale rooftop solar power plant. The core of this significant industrial solar energy initiative involves the installation of a 123-megawatt peak (MWp) solar complex, which notably includes a 50 MWp installation on a single rooftop.

The large-scale rooftop solar power plant will consist of 77,000 solar panels covering a 262,000-square-meter storage facility. The broader project will also incorporate additional ground-mounted and rooftop solar panels, totaling over 189,900 units spread across 707,000 square meters. The energy output is projected to be 200 million kilowatt-hours annually, which is anticipated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 90,000 metric tons each year.

This project is structured as a power purchase agreement, meaning the energy developer finances and builds the system and then sells the power to the industrial user.
