Renewable Energy Investment Expansions
Younan Company is Entering Renewable Energy Field
Colin Smith — January 31, 2026Younan Company, through Soleil Renewable Energy LLC, is advancing a utility scale solar and storage project in California comprising 880 MW of solar PV and 460 MW of battery storage. Key development milestones have been completed, including land acquisition and a third party land appraisal. Significant progress has been made on interconnection with the California Independent System Operator and parallel interconnection arrangements with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power are underway, establishing a dual grid connection strategy. The project targets commercial operation in mid 2028 and is expected to be shovel ready within 18 months following completion of environmental review and permitting.
The combined solar and storage configuration is intended to provide energy shifting, capacity and ancillary services to support grid reliability and renewable integration. The dual grid approach is designed to enhance operational flexibility and long term commercial potential by enabling access to multiple offtake and market pathways. Remaining development tasks include finalising permitting, securing construction financing, and confirming offtake or merchant revenue arrangements. The project represents a strategic diversification for Younan Company into large scale clean energy infrastructure and will require continued regulatory, technical and commercial execution to reach operation.
