Clean Energy Expansions
Adani Green Energy Added 2.4 GW of Capacity to its Renewable Farms
Colin Smith — November 5, 2025Adani Green Energy has expanded its renewable portfolio with an additional 2.4 GW of green energy capacity, increasing its operational scale across utility‑scale solar and wind projects. The capacity addition comprises newly commissioned projects and assets brought into commercial operation during the reporting period, and is intended to bolster the company’s generation base for contracted offtake under power purchase agreements. The rollout was supported by project finance facilities and standard engineering, procurement, and construction arrangements, with operational handover to in‑house or contracted operations and maintenance teams to ensure performance and availability.
The incremental capacity is positioned to improve the company’s contribution to regional renewable supply and to support grid decarbonisation objectives where the projects are located. Near‑term priorities associated with the expansion include integrating variable output into local transmission systems, optimising dispatch and merchant exposure, and evaluating the addition of battery storage to enhance firming capabilities and ancillary‑service participation. The company also highlights metrics used to track the outcome of the expansion such as megawatt‑hours delivered, capacity utilisation factors, contracted revenue coverage, and expected lifecycle emissions reductions.
