Reuseable Construction Soils
Persimmon to Reuse Soils on Its Projects Through Ecofill Partnership
Kanesa D — February 10, 2026Persimmon Homes is set to use Ecofill technology to help reuse soil and clay in its housebuilding projects. After a trial phase, Ecofill has demonstrated "clear evidence of impact," enabling the conversion of natural materials into materials suitable for roads, embankments, retaining walls, and more. The outputs comply with European regulations while reducing the need for aggregates and lorry movements. It also helps reduce carbon emissions.
“We take a rigorous approach to innovation, ensuring solutions are properly tested and proven before they are integrated into how we build and deliver homes at scale. Working with Ecofill allows us to manage surplus soils more effectively, reduce waste, and improve sustainability outcomes on our developments while maintaining the standards our customers and communities expect,” said Persimmon Homes group engineering director Dean Wigley.
