LightSeeds Raised €162K to Scale Its Vertical Solar Panel System

Swiss cleantech startup LightSeeds secured €162,000 from Venture Kick to bring its vertical solar panel technology to market. The funding targets long stretches of road barriers, railway walls and industrial building facades that conventional solar systems cannot effectively serve.
LightSeeds created a super-light, unbreakable photovoltaic module that clips into a modular mounting system. Its design shortens installation time and decreases deployment costs for solar panels on surfaces that are typically underutilized. LightSpeed is also targeting other revenue streams, such as pipelines across Europe.
As urban planners and infrastructure operators seek new ways to produce clean energy without using additional land, LightSeeds shows how reimagining the shape of solar panels can unlock a wider range of surfaces for renewable energy generation.
