Water Access Funding Programs
Water.org Partners With Brands to Fund Water Infrastructure
mursal rahman — June 9, 2026Water.org's Get Blue initiative creates a new way for consumers and brands to support access to safe water and sanitation through everyday activities. Developed with partners including Gap, Starbucks, Amazon, and Ecolab, the program links purchases, donations, and digital engagement to Water.org's financing model, which helps families secure affordable loans for household water and sanitation improvements. Rather than relying solely on charitable giving, the approach is designed to create long-term impact by enabling funds to be reused as loans are repaid.
The initiative highlights how companies are increasingly integrating social and environmental impact into customer experiences. By embedding support for water access into retail products, digital services, and brand campaigns, participating organizations can engage consumers while contributing to a global challenge. The model also demonstrates the growing role of cross-industry partnerships in scaling essential infrastructure solutions, creating opportunities for businesses to align community impact efforts with broader sustainability and social responsibility goals.
