Archroma Partnered with V.J.T.I to Advance Speciality Chemicals
Colin Smith — November 4, 2025Archroma and the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (V.J.T.I) have entered a partnership to advance sustainable innovation in textile processing and materials by combining industrial expertise with academic research capabilities. The collaboration focuses on joint research and development projects that target reduced water and chemical consumption, safer and more efficient dyeing and finishing processes, and the assessment of new sustainable textile chemistries and treatments. Activities under the partnership are structured to generate applied research outputs, prototype demonstrations, and technical validations that can be translated into industrial practice.
The agreement also emphasizes capacity building and knowledge transfer through student engagement, curriculum support, and training opportunities for researchers and industry practitioners. Planned initiatives include laboratory collaborations, pilot trials, and technical workshops intended to equip students and professionals with skills in sustainable textile technologies and lifecycle thinking. The partnership is presented as a means to accelerate the uptake of lower-impact materials and processes within the textile value chain while creating pathways for commercialization and industry adoption of validated solutions.
