Better Cotton has officially rebranded as Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) and unveiled a new label for the fashion and textile sector, launching in time for World Cotton Day. The label enables brands and retailers to transparently showcase products made with physically verified BCI Cotton, certified and traced from farm to finished product.

BCI’s impact extends globally: it has supported over 650,000 licensed farmers, trained more than 575,000 women in the sector, and promoted sustainable practices across 2.15 million hectares. Efforts include reducing synthetic nitrogen use, cutting pesticide application, and eliminating highly hazardous pesticides for 81% of licensed farmers, advancing both environmental and social responsibility in cotton production.

“These results represent real change in cotton farming communities around the world,” Weatherwill said. “Both our new label and annual report are more than updates—they are evidence of our steadfast determination to catalyze and scale sustainable practices in cotton production. We are proud of our progress but also recognize there is much more to do. Time is of the essence, and with our multi-stakeholder membership and network of field-level partners, I’m confident we will rise to the challenge.”
