Bio-Based Textile Materials

Bio-based performance materials are expanding as CovationBio introduces Xatryx® bioPTMEG and Sorona® elasterell-p fiber for apparel and textile manufacturing. Xatryx is produced from renewable corncobs and serves as a direct replacement for petroleum-based PTMEG without requiring manufacturers to modify existing production processes. Meanwhile, Sorona elasterell-p fiber delivers durable stretch and shape retention using plant-based content, offering an alternative to elastane for applications ranging from activewear to uniforms and workwear.

For textile manufacturers and apparel brands, these materials lower barriers to adopting renewable inputs while maintaining established manufacturing workflows and product performance.
