Collaborative Clean Energy Initiatives

Vanguard Renewables has entered into a collaborative clean energy initiative with CenterPoint Energy. According to the supply agreement, the former company will provide the latter with renewable natural gas from a new processing facility to be constructed in Minnesota.

The new Minnesota facility will utilize anaerobic digestion technology to break down a combination of agricultural manure and organic waste from food and beverage producers. Vanguard Renewables will capture the resulting methane gas and refine it to a quality suitable for injection into the existing natural gas distribution network, which already serves a significant portion of the state's population.

The clean energy initiative is compatible with a circular economy model as it addresses waste management challenges while simultaneously generating a low-carbon energy source. The residual digestate from the process is being repurposed as agricultural fertilizer.
