Plasma CO2 Recycling Investments

D-CRBN Raised €17.5M to Scale Its Plasma CO₂ Recycling Technology

D-CRBN closed a €17.5 million Series A led by Astaia, with participation from SFPIM and the European Innovation Council Fund, to scale its plasma reactor technology from industrial pilot to commercial deployment. The plasma CO₂ recycling circular carbon platform uses renewable electricity to transform CO₂-rich off-gases and hydrocarbons from steel and chemical plants into carbon monoxide and syngas, serving as feedstocks for sustainable fuels, chemicals and materials.

The technology has already been validated at the industrial pilot scale with partners in the steel and chemical sectors, and multiple demonstration projects are advancing toward commercialization.

D-CRBN shows how electrifying carbon recycling at the point of emission can convert industrial waste gases into valuable circular feedstocks instead of releasing them into the atmosphere as CO₂.
