The Government of Canada has announced approximately $17 million in funding for various carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects through Natural Resources Canada’s Energy Innovation Program.

The funding will support five projects aimed at CO₂ storage validation, monitoring technologies, and utilization methods. The initiative is managed by the Office of Energy Research and Development as part of Canada's large-scale clean energy strategy. The funding will be distributed across multiple provinces, including Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec, to support infrastructure development and research aimed at improving energy efficiency in carbon capture systems.

This investment from the Canadian government illustrates the ongoing efforts to advance current CCUS technologies as part of large-scale industrial decarbonization and long-term emissions reduction plans.
