Nature-Based Investment Funds

Ardian and Societe Generale announced a nature-based solutions equity partnership, with Societe Generale committing €100 million as the anchor investor in Ardian's Averrhoa NBS fund. The initiative targets reforestation and the restoration of wetlands and mangroves over a 40-year investment horizon, with a focus on scaling investment in nature-based solutions.

The fund aims to sequester 85 million tons of carbon through natural ecosystems while preserving water resources, improving soil and air quality and supporting local communities. Structured as an SFDR Article 9 impact fund, it combines Ardian's infrastructure expertise with Societe Generale's project financing and nature-related transaction capabilities.

The partnership shows how major financial institutions are positioning nature-based solutions as a long-term investment class with measurable environmental outcomes.
