Fully Electric Truck Announcements

AkzoNobel has made a fully electric truck announcement, unveiling a new fleet of zero-emission vehicles in partnership with XPO Logistics to support cleaner, greener transport across the UK. The company’s first 100% electric trucks and urban trailer fleet, alongside a new nationwide HVO-powered fleet, are expected to reduce transport-related emissions by more than 50% -- cutting around 3,000 tonnes of CO? each year.

Operating initially from AkzoNobel’s Slough site, the fully electric trucks will service London and nearby regions with zero direct emissions. The rollout marks AkzoNobel as the first paint brand in the UK to deploy large-scale electric heavy goods vehicles under the government’s Zero Emission HGV Infrastructure Demonstrator (ZEHID) program. The move underscores the company’s broader commitment to achieving science-based climate targets and embedding sustainability into every aspect of its operations.
