Navitas and Caelux Commercialize 28% Efficient Tandem Solar Panels

Hybrid tandem solar modules are advancing renewable energy by combining Caelux's perovskite energy-producing glass with Navitas Solar's N-Type TOPCon technology to achieve module efficiencies of up to 28%. Through a five-year, 5 GW commercialization partnership, the companies plan to manufacture high-efficiency tandem solar modules in India, with commercial production targeted for 2028. The collaboration supports India's expanding solar industry while strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities for next-generation renewable energy technologies.
The partnership demonstrates how combining complementary solar technologies can generate more electricity from the same installation footprint, improving energy density and reducing the cost of solar power. Higher-efficiency modules can accelerate renewable energy deployment where land availability and project economics are critical.
