Green Hydrogen Manufacturing Plants

JSW Energy Limited Commissioned a Hydrogen Plant in India

JSW Energy Limited has commissioned what it describes as India’s largest green hydrogen manufacturing plant, developed to supply low‑carbon hydrogen for downstream industrial use within the JSW group, notably steel production. The facility uses water electrolysis powered by renewable electricity sources to produce hydrogen without relying on fossil‑based feedstocks, and it is integrated into the company’s broader decarbonisation strategy to replace conventional hydrogen and reduce process‑level CO2 emissions in energy‑intensive manufacturing operations. The project is positioned as both a demonstration of large‑scale green hydrogen production capability and a supply‑side enabler for the company’s planned low‑carbon value chains, including feedstock substitution and potential blending into existing processes. JSW highlights the plant’s role in scaling hydrogen supply, attracting further investment in renewable generation and electrolyzer capacity, and informing operational practices and supply agreements needed to support wider industrial adoption of green hydrogen in India.
