Car manufacturer has unveiled its 'Focus 2030,' a multi-powertrain strategy targeting a 60/40 PHEV-to-BEV volume split as it transitions toward full electrification at a customer-led pace. The performance car electrification strategy keeps combustion and hybrid options alive through the X-Hybrid technology, which is already delivering 350km of EV-only range and 1,200km of total range in the EletreX.

A new V8 hybrid supercar producing over 1,000 PS is planned for 2028, alongside a refreshed combustion-engine Emira, confirming Lotus' continued UK manufacturing commitment.

As performance car brands face pressure to electrify without alienating core customers, Lotus shows how tracking actual consumer demand, rather than regulatory timelines alone, can keep heritage car brands viable amid a disruptive shift in the automotive sector.
