Sustainable Aviation Projects

Project SkyPower is a cross‑sector alliance formed to accelerate the commercial deployment of electricity‑based sustainable aviation fuel, commonly referred to as e‑SAF, with the stated objective of enabling first large‑scale plants to reach final investment decision by 2030. The initiative brings together aircraft manufacturers, airlines, energy companies, and technology providers to coordinate policy advocacy, project development, and industrial planning for e‑SAF scale up in Europe.

The alliance has published policy recommendations and an open letter outlining five priority interventions to unlock investment, and it has publicly welcomed the European Commission’s Sustainable Transport Investment Plan as a supportive framework for advancing first‑of‑a‑kind projects. Project SkyPower frames e‑SAF scale up as necessary to meet mandated fuel targets, strengthen industrial competitiveness, and create jobs while noting the substantial investment needs to reach commercial scale.
