Autonomous Solar Transit Systems

RAILBUS presented a full scale prototype of a solar powered autonomous elevated transit vehicle at the Doers Summit in Dubai Silicon Oasis on 26 and 27 November 2025. The prototype was described as a carriage sized for approximately forty passengers and engineered for operation on elevated guideways with autonomous control systems and on vehicle solar generation. Company materials highlighted modular construction, lightweight guideway integration, and energy management features intended to support low operational emissions and reduced infrastructure footprint. The exhibit included technical briefings, engineering specifications, and demonstrations of vehicle systems to illustrate boarding, passenger flow, and power management under representative operating conditions.

During the summit RAILBUS engaged with regional transport authorities, potential investors, and mobility stakeholders to explore pilot routes and infrastructure requirements. Meetings reportedly included discussions on safety certification, systems integration testing, route feasibility studies, and procurement pathways to move from prototype to pilot deployments. Organizers and company representatives indicated interest in further technical validation and costed business cases to assess capital and operating models. Next steps identified by participants emphasized regulatory approvals, detailed engineering studies, and phased trials to verify performance, passenger experience, and economic viability before any commercial roll out. Stakeholders noted timelines remain subject to funding.
