High-Efficiency Industrial Heat Pumps

Skyven Technologies is advancing high-efficiency industrial heat pumps with its Arcturus system, which generates steam for energy-intensive manufacturing processes. At its Texas demonstration center, Arcturus achieved a sustained coefficient of performance of 8.0, improving more than 20% from commissioning. At this performance level, the system requires roughly 10 times less energy to produce each unit of steam compared with conventional boilers. It can also accommodate temperature lifts ranging from 38°C to 185°C for different industrial applications.

From a business perspective, Arcturus could help manufacturers lower steam costs while reducing reliance on natural gas and exposure to volatile energy prices. Skyven also offers the technology through an Energy-as-a-Service model, allowing customers to deploy the system without upfront capital investment. This approach could make industrial heat electrification more accessible while helping manufacturers reduce operating and emissions-related compliance costs.
