Sungrow Powers Sierra Leone with Solar and Battery Storage

Sungrow's RESPITE Solar-plus-Storage Project in Sierra Leone integrates solar power with 35 MWh of battery energy storage, enabling stable electricity delivery while reducing reliance on diesel generation. The system's black start capability allows it to establish a self-sustaining microgrid without external grid support, improving resilience during outages and supporting reliable project commissioning. By increasing electricity access and strengthening grid stability, the project demonstrates how integrated solar and storage systems can address infrastructure challenges in emerging markets.
