RoseVilla Senior Living has introduced the Pacific Northwest’s first solar-powered resilient hub designed specifically for a senior living community, establishing a significant benchmark for environmentally responsible and climate-adaptive residential care. Dedicated on November 13, "the ROSE Port—Resilient Operations and Sustainable Energy—serves as the inaugural achievement within RoseVilla’s long-term Resiliency Action Plan and reflects a strategic investment in low-carbon, future-ready infrastructure."

Developed in partnership with Portland-based Green Hammer Design + Build, the hub is engineered to maintain autonomous operation during prolonged disruptions, including heat waves, wildfires, ice storms, and seismic events. Its construction prioritizes ecological performance through the use of mass timber, such as mass plywood panels and FSC-certified glued laminated lumber, which reduces dependence on carbon-intensive materials while supporting responsible forest management. Supported by on-site solar energy and electric vehicle charging, the ROSE Port positions RoseVilla as a model for sustainable and resilient senior living.
