Sustainable construction is central to the collaboration between Woodchuck and Walbridge, which applies data-driven strategies to improve waste management and resource efficiency on large-scale projects. In its first three months, "the program increased visibility into material flows, including waste composition, diversion rates, and cost performance, achieving approximately 40% of projected materials-related savings." This early progress supported more efficient operations while establishing a scalable framework for future projects.

As a contractor with extensive experience in complex industrial builds, Walbridge has increasingly aligned its practices with client sustainability goals. On high-volume sites, fluctuating material inputs make waste management a critical environmental and operational priority.

At the Ford project, wood waste—including pallets, crating, and rigging—presented a variable waste stream. By integrating real-time tracking and data analysis, the partnership improved diversion outcomes, reduced hauling demands, and advanced more predictable, circular material management practices.
