Syre and Target Expanded Their Textile Recycling Partnership

Syre and Target expanded their collaboration to integrate textile-to-textile recycled polyester into Target’s apparel and home categories, with meaningful product integration expected by 2030. The textile-to-textile recycled polyester effort is designed to enable the use of 70,000 metric tonnes of polyester made from end-of-life textiles, converting clothing that would otherwise become waste into new retail products at scale.

Syre is planning its first large-scale recycling facility in Southeast Asia, with construction starting in 2027, building on existing partnerships with H&M Group and Nike, alongside the expanded Target deal.

As retailers face pressure to reduce reliance on synthetics, Syre and Target show how anchoring circular material commitments in long-term supply agreements can create the commercial foundation textile recycling infrastructure needs to be built.
