Refurbished Device Projects
TUANZ Unites with Recycle a Device to Bridge Youth Technology Divides
Kanesa D — February 5, 2026The Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand (TUANZ) has named Recycle A Device its 2026 social impact partner, with a focus on improving access to laptops for students who lack a working device at home.
The partnership is a direct result of TUANZ’s 2026-2027 action plan, which prioritizes digital inclusion and recognizes device access as essential for education and participation in the digital economy. Recycle A Device collects unused laptops, refurbishes them, and distributes them to students, while also training young people interested in technical repair skills.
TUANZ is also encouraging businesses to donate devices as part of their regular hardware refresh cycles, offering a practical way to reduce e-waste and create meaningful social impact in a technology-rich world.
