UNECE and DESA are Working to Advance U.K Transport

UNECE and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs collaborated to convene stakeholders and support development of the Implementation Plan for the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport 2026–2035. The joint activities included a capacity building workshop that brought together Member States, civil society, and sector experts to discuss priorities for the Decade and to inform the Implementation Plan, with over 50 participants representing multiple transport sectors.
The partnership is presented as preparatory work for the Decade launch and related policy events, and UNECE and DESA materials note contributions to the Implementation Plan and to public outreach that accompanied the Decade’s formal launch. The collaboration emphasizes aligning policy, finance, technology, and capacity building to advance sustainable, inclusive, and resilient transport systems and to support Member States in meeting transport‑related Sustainable Development Goal objectives.
