School Drinking Water Donations
Zurn Elkay Has Donated Filtered Bottle Stations to Uvalde Schools
Adam Harrie — May 27, 2026Zurn Elkay donated 36 filtered bottle-filling stations, 19 ezH2O filtered stations, 73 filtration conversion kits and five years’ worth of filters to the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, totaling a $370,000 contribution across all five elementary campuses. The school’s filtered drinking water lead-reduction program places one filtered station for every 100 students and retrofits every classroom and cafeteria faucet with filters certified to reduce lead, microplastics and certain PFAS compounds.
The donation is part of Zurn Elkay’s Fountains for Youth initiative, which targets districts with high lead levels and limited resources. In 2025, Elkay stations eliminated the need for more than 20 billion single-use plastic bottles worldwide.
Zurn Elkay shows how point-of-use filtration donations can deliver immediate health improvements for children without waiting years for large-scale infrastructure upgrades.
