Osaka Prefecture is accelerating its efforts to become a global model for sustainable innovation, showcasing cutting-edge carbon-neutral technologies as part of EXPO2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan. During the exhibition from October 7 to 13, ten pioneering technologies in renewable energy, CO₂ capture, hydrogen, recycling, and energy management demonstrated the city’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality through technological advancement.
The exhibition formed part of Osaka’s Carbon Neutral Technology Development and Demonstration Project, which has supported 18 initiatives since 2022 with a total investment of 1.76 billion yen. These projects, developed by companies such as Sumitomo Electric Industries, MIRAIT ONE, and Microwave Chemical, have produced tangible solutions ranging from hydrogen production systems and AI-controlled air conditioning to recycled materials made from waste plastics and seashells. Several of these innovations have already reached commercialization, reinforcing Osaka’s reputation as a hub of sustainable industry.
