AI Data Center Power Systems

Envision Deploys an 800V DC System for Efficient AI Computing

Envision has introduced AI data center power systems that use an integrated 800V DC architecture to deliver electricity directly from grid connections to computing equipment. Now operating at the company's Galaxy campus in Ulanqab, China, the system combines battery storage, advanced transformers, and intelligent controls to support demanding AI workloads while reducing infrastructure complexity.

The technology uses solid-state transformers to convert medium-voltage electricity, while batteries provide backup power and respond to sudden demand changes. Envision's Dubhe Controller coordinates these components in real time, helping maintain stable electricity delivery. The design also requires less cabling and copper while accommodating more computing equipment within limited space.

For data center operators, this approach could lower infrastructure expenses and improve power management. Envision plans to expand its renewable-powered computing infrastructure through its Mission Gobi initiative, targeting 5GW of capacity by 2030.
