U Power's Hydro Data joint venture is developing AI-driven hydrogen energy solutions designed to support the growing power demands of modern data centers. The initiative combines U Power's expertise in smart energy management with Guofu Hydrogen Energy's hydrogen infrastructure capabilities to create integrated systems that can provide both primary and backup power. The solution is being introduced in Thailand, where rapid data center growth is increasing pressure on existing electricity infrastructure.

The approach uses AI-powered energy management tools alongside hydrogen-based power generation to improve efficiency, reliability and operational flexibility. By targeting mission-critical facilities such as data centers, the project addresses a growing need for stable power sources that can align with sustainability objectives while supporting expanding digital infrastructure.

As demand for AI, cloud computing and digital services continues to grow, alternative energy systems could play a larger role in powering data centers while reducing dependence on conventional backup power solutions and supporting long-term energy resilience.
