HydraVault is Breaking Ground on a Facility in Chicago
Kalin Ned — October 29, 2025HydraVault has received official authorization to begin building a specialized data center in downtown Chicago, with construction set to start without delay. The facility is distinguished by its design, which is specifically intended to support advanced computational workloads such as artificial intelligence operations and high-frequency financial trading.
HydraVault's specialized data center is projected to offer a substantial amount of power capacity and a high density of energy delivery per server rack. The design is also noteworthy for its emphasis on energy efficiency. The facility will utilize a cooling system that does not require water and is anticipated to achieve a very favorable power usage effectiveness score.
HydraVault's project involves a collaboration of several firms, including Gensler — an architecture company for the design, and Power Construction — a local construction group that has committed to managing community relations during the building phase.
