Circular Hotel Waste Programs

Circular hotel waste programs are bringing more structured resource recovery practices into hospitality operations. Sunset World Group is partnering with Mexican nonprofit ECOCE to strengthen waste separation, handling and recovery processes across its hotel operations beginning September 15, 2026. The collaboration will introduce practices aligned with circular economy principles, emphasizing waste reduction, material reuse and recycling while improving how resources are managed throughout the properties.

The partnership also incorporates education for employees, members and guests, extending the program beyond back-of-house waste management to encourage broader participation. For hospitality companies, formalizing these systems can help reduce the volume of materials discarded while improving operational efficiency and resource use. Working with specialized organizations such as ECOCE can also give hotel operators access to established waste-management expertise and processes.
