Membrane-Based Biogas Facilities
Clarke Energy Initiates a New Facility in India
Kalin Ned — October 10, 2025Clarke Energy, an organization within the Rehlko corporate group, has successfully initiated operations at a new facility in India that processes biogas into a higher-grade fuel. Located at a site managed by a waste management company in Chennai, the installation utilizes a membrane filtration method to refine biogas generated from decomposing organic food waste. The output is a purified form of biomethane that meets the standards for use as vehicle fuel and aligns with a national Indian program aimed at developing a sustainable energy source for transportation.
The core technology was engineered and manufactured within India. The system is reported to be performing at expected efficiency levels and producing fuel with a high degree of purity. The most direct impact of Clarke Energy's new facility is the contribution to cleaner urban air quality.
