Amcor has partnered with Belgium-based De Ceuster Meststoffen NV (DCM) to launch a new, recyclable, mono-material polyethylene (PE) film for DCM’s fertilizer products sold in Europe. This development replaces DCM’s prior multi-material packaging, which was incompatible with standard recycling streams.

The new packaging incorporates 35% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and is available in sizes from 650 grams to 7 kilograms. Life cycle assessment data indicate that this transition reduces the carbon footprint by 17%.

Engineered with machine-direction-oriented polyethylene (MDO PE) and a functional sealant layer, the film provides robust protection against gas and moisture, high tensile strength, and resistance to tearing and puncturing. Its structural integrity ensures smaller packs remain upright on shelves, while a secure seal minimizes deformation. A high-gloss finish completes the design.
