Upcycled Oat Pulp Ingredients
Livoo's Eco-Oatup is Made with Upcycled Oat Milk Waste
Laura McQuarrie — June 18, 2026Protein and fiber are key callouts in nutritious products, and Livoo's Eco-Oatup is a new, protein-rich, fiber-rich ingredient that makes the most of the leftover pulp from oat milk production.
Oat milk is made by blending oats with water and straining the mixture to produce a creamy, smooth liquid packed with natural sweetness and nutrients, and the process leaves behind a plant-based pulp (okara) that's also nutritious, as well as versatile. Rather than seeing oat milk waste go unused, Livoo applies a proprietary drying technology to address the challenges of working with the moisture-rich, perishable material. As a result, premium, value-packed Eco-Oatup has the potential to add value to everything from baked goods to meat alternatives and dairy substitutes.
Livoo’s first commercial batches of oat protein are already en route to B2B partners in Europe.
