The 3Cs Project is an Erasmus Plus Sport initiative led by FISU in partnership with universities and organizations in Portugal, France, Spain, and Italy. Launched in 2023, the project promotes sustainable mobility within university communities by encouraging cycling, walking, and public transport as alternatives to car based commuting. According to FISU, the initiative includes a multi country route connecting Coimbra, Madrid, Montpellier, and Torino, completed using bicycles and trains to demonstrate practical low carbon travel options. The project partners include Universidad Camilo José Cela, Université Paul Valéry Montpellier, Università degli Studi di Torino, and MUV B Corp, all working to integrate sustainable mobility practices into campus life.

The 3Cs route covered more than 2000 kilometers, with 688 kilometers traveled by bicycle and 1,346 kilometers by train over 15 days. Participants passed through varied terrain and urban environments to highlight the feasibility and benefits of active and public transport. FISU notes that the project aims to support healthier lifestyles, reduce emissions, and strengthen connections between campuses and surrounding cities. The initiative also serves as a demonstration of how mobility choices can contribute to environmental goals while enhancing community engagement across European university networks.
