Micro-Modular Nuclear Reactors
Hadron Energy Unveiled Its Vision for the Halo MMR
Adam Harrie — July 16, 2026Hadron Energy released a new video outlining its vision for the 'Halo Micro-Modular Reactor,' a 10-megawatt electric nuclear system designed for centralized manufacturing rather than decade-long on-site construction. The reactor uses proven light-water technology, the same type powering all 94 operating commercial nuclear plants in the U.S., enabling a more predictable NRC licensing pathway.
The modular units are designed to cluster together to meet high power demands from AI data centers, military bases and heavy industry. Most military installations require less than 20 MWe, making them a natural fit for the Halo's scale.
Hadron Energy shows how proven nuclear technology repackaged for rapid deployment could offer a scalable source of continuous, emissions-free power as AI infrastructure demand grows.
