OMRON Launched High Voltage DC Relays for Its EV Charging and Storage
Adam Harrie — May 20, 2026OMRON Electronic Components launched the G9KD and G9KJ high-voltage DC power relays designed for EV charging infrastructure and energy storage systems operating on 800V and 1,500V architectures. The high-voltage DC relay EV charging components replace conventional contactors with PCB-mounted alternatives. The G9KD handles main circuit switching up to 1,500 VDC and 150A, while the G9KJ manages pre-charge applications to protect components and improve system reliability during startup.
Both relays reduce system footprint and simplify integration compared to larger traditional switching components, while offering high insulation performance and dielectric strength for demanding operating environments.
