Iberdrola has invested one million euros in TRIBBU through its PERSEO program, which supports start‑ups focused on high‑impact innovation. TRIBBU, formerly known as Hoop Carpool, operates an urban carpooling platform designed to reduce emissions by increasing vehicle occupancy. The company currently has 55,000 registered users and has facilitated more than 500,000 shared trips. With Iberdrola’s backing, TRIBBU aims to exceed 15 million trips by 2027, a target associated with preventing more than 60 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Each shared journey generates certified energy savings that are converted into financial incentives for users through the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition’s energy savings certificate system.

The investment aligns with Iberdrola’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio of sustainable mobility initiatives and support digital solutions that contribute to energy efficiency. Drivers using TRIBBU receive an average of one euro per shared trip through the platform’s BBono Energético incentive. Iberdrola’s PERSEO program has supported more than 30 companies since 2008 and engages with over 300 start‑ups annually to advance electrification, automation, and new energy services. The partnership with TRIBBU is positioned as a means to scale low‑emission mobility alternatives while integrating innovative business models into Iberdrola’s long‑term sustainability objectives.
